Waipa Mill Rayox Treatment Plant
APRs’ brief was to design a functional showpiece building. This was so successfully achieved that the design received a New Zealand Institute of Architects’ Design Award. This building at Fletcher's Waipa Mill is the Rayox Treatment Plant, a unique ‘high tech’ facility for removing PSPs from ground water.

The construction is part block, where it is required to be rebust enough to survive fork lift truck impact, and light weight timber frame with Onduline cladding elsewhere. The curved roof is also Onduline on laminated timber beams.
